Once your event and video streams are set up, you'll need to start the TrackCast software on each matside computer and connect it to the correct event, mat, and video stream. You'll also configure OBS Studio and verify that your camera feed is ready before you begin streaming. Watch the video below to see the process, or follow these steps on each matside computer.

Start the Matside Controller

Make sure OBS Studio is closed before you begin.

On each matside computer:

  1. Open the Controller folder.
  2. Run UpdateController.bat to update the controller.
  3. Run MatsideServer.bat to start the matside server.
  4. Open Controller.html in Google Chrome.
  5. Select the tournament type.
  6. Choose Yes or No for Clock.
  7. Select TW from the server dropdown.
  8. Select the Style of Wrestling.
  9. Set Riding Time:
    • Select Yes for college wrestling when there is no riding time controller.
    • Select No for all other situations.
  10. Click Save Settings.

Log in to your event and select the mat

  1. Click Event > Search.
  2. Log in using your Worker login.
  3. On the Matches page, select the mat number at the top of the page.
  4. Verify that the Streaming dropdown has the same mat number selected.
  5. Click Video in the left menu.

Assign the broadcast settings

  1. Under Broadcast Settings, select the correct Mat Number.
  2. Click Assign.
  3. Click OK on the confirmation pop-up.
  4. Select the New Trackwrestling scene.
  5. Click Assign.
  6. Click OK on the confirmation pop-up.

Check the video in OBS Studio

  1. Open OBS Studio.
  2. Verify that the video appears and fits the video display.

If the video display is black:

  1. Under Sources, right-click Video.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Open the Device dropdown.
  4. Select the Webcam option.
  5. Select your camera device.
  6. Verify that the camera feed appears.

If you still do not see the video, make sure the camera and other equipment are connected correctly and powered on.

Configure OBS Studio

  1. Click Settings.
  2. Select Output.
  3. Change Output Mode to Advanced.
  4. Set Keyframe Interval to 2.
  5. Set Profile to Baseline.
  6. Set CPU Usage to Veryfast.
  7. Set the appropriate Bitrate for your venue's available internet speed.
  8. Save your settings.

If OBS displays an encoder overload message while streaming, change CPU Usage to Ultrafast to help reduce the computer's CPU load.

Important

Your bitrate depends on the internet speeds available at your venue. Confirm the appropriate bitrate with your FloSports streaming contact before starting your streams.

Start streaming

  1. In OBS Studio, click Start Streaming.
  2. Check the status bar at the bottom of OBS for:
    • CPU usage
    • Streaming status
    • Error messages
  3. If OBS reports an encoder overload, change the CPU Usage setting to Ultrafast as described above.
  4. Verify that your stream is working before competition begins.
