Troubleshooting App Warning & Error Messages

If you encounter an issue while setting up or broadcasting your stream, the Broadcaster app performs automatic system checks to identify what went wrong. Use the guide below to understand what the error message means in plain terms and how to resolve it quickly.

🛑 Critical Errors (Streaming Cannot Continue)

These messages appear when the app is missing a required permission or cannot establish a core network connection required to stream.

App Error Message

Explanation

What You Should Do

"Streaming requires your camera/microphone. Please allow access in your settings."

The app doesn't have permission to use your device’s camera or microphone, so it cannot capture video or audio.

Open your phone or tablet's Settings, scroll down to select this app, and toggle Camera and Microphone permissions to On.

"Streaming data will not work. Request your IT Administrator for access."

Your network (Wi-Fi or cellular) is blocking the background service that sends video live.

• On Wi-Fi: If you are at a school, venue, or business network, ask the IT administrator to unblock *.flosports.tv.

• On Cellular: Check if your cellular carrier has restricted content or data saver modes enabled.

"Graphics may not work / Real-time data and graphics will not work"

The app cannot reach our graphics server to overlay scoreboard information onto your video.

• On Wi-Fi: Ask your IT administrator to allow network access to *.firebaseapp.com and *.flokubernetes.com.

• Quick Fix: Try switching off Wi-Fi and using cellular data (or vice versa).

"Unable to connect to Trackwrestling / FloWrestling"

The app cannot pull event details or match data from the scoring platform.

• On Wi-Fi: Request your IT administrator unblock *.trackwrestling.com or *.flowrestling.org.

• Verify that your event code was entered correctly and that your event is live.

"Stream paused automatically. App was backgrounded."

You closed the app, minimized it, or switched to another app (like checking a text or taking a call).

Keep the app open on your screen while live. Re-open the app immediately to resume streaming.

"Connection Lost. Stream paused. Switch to mobile data or another network."

Your device completely lost connection to the internet.

• Move closer to your Wi-Fi router.

• Switch from Wi-Fi to Cellular/Mobile Data in your device settings.

• Wait a moment for connection to restore.

"Your device battery is under 20%"

Your battery is critically low and the phone will turn off shortly.

Plug your device into a wall charger or portable power bank immediately to prevent the stream from abruptly cutting off.

⚠️ Warning Messages (Degraded Experience)

You can continue streaming with these alerts, but performance or video quality may be affected.

Explanation

What You Should Do

"Your device battery is under 50%"

Video streaming uses a high amount of battery power and will drain your phone rapidly.

Plug your device into a power source as soon as possible.

"Incorrect Orientation. Switch back to landscape."

Your phone is held vertically (portrait mode), but live streams require horizontal mode (landscape).

Turn your phone sideways into landscape position.

"Poor framing. Center the mat in the frame."

The camera angle is off-center or missing parts of the action.

Adjust your tripod or camera position so the full mat surface and circle are clearly visible.

"Mat view is blocked. Clear the camera's view."

Something (like a spectator, referee, or object) is standing directly in front of your camera lens.

Move any obstacles or elevate your tripod so the view of the action remains clear.

"Camera unstable. Stabilize your device." / "Your device was bumped."

Excessive shaking or movement is making the video blurry and hard to watch.

Mount your device securely on a sturdy tripod rather than holding it by hand.

"Wi-Fi connection lost, device automatically switched to cellular."

Your Wi-Fi dropped out, but the app safely switched to mobile data so the stream wouldn't stop.

Keep an eye on your mobile signal bar to ensure you have strong cellular service.

"No audio detected"

The camera isn't picking up any sound from the surrounding area.

Check if your microphone is muted in the app's settings panel, or check if a case/accessory is covering the microphone hole.

"Audio too loud. Lower input level."

Background noise or loud cheering is causing audio distortion/clipping.

Lower the microphone input sensitivity in the app settings or move away from loud speakers/crowds.

💡 Pro Tips for a Smooth Broadcast

  • Device Temperature: Streaming generates significant heat. Remove protective cases to prevent overheating. If your device gets too hot, the stream quality will drop or the device may shut down.
  • Network Restrictions (IT Department Info): If you are setting up on a restricted school or facility network, share the following domain whitelist with your IT Administrator:
    • *.flosports.tv
    • *.firebaseapp.com
    • *.flokubernetes.com
    • *.singular.live
    • *.trackwrestling.com
    • *.flowrestling.org
